Just picked up Rosenberg's new book "The Ezekiel Option". Looks as good as the last two. If you like political thrillers - Clancy, Ludlum, and the rest - you'll love these books. If you haven't read the first two already, grab a copy, but make sure you have some free time first.
Very interesting search idea.
Clusty is the search site owned and operated by Vivisimo that aims to change the way people search online. It uses our award-winning Clustering Engine to organize search results into folders grouping similar items together. Thus a search for ‘pearl’ organizes the top 250-500 results into subject folders such as Jewelry, Pearl Harbor, Pearl Jam, Steinbeck Novel and Daniel Pearl. Clusty allows users to focus on the area of interest without all the chaff.
Just Plain Cold
Now this is neat,
Pittsburgh's Safar Centre for Resuscitation Research has developed a technique in which subject's veins are drained of blood and filled with an ice-cold salt solution.
US scientists have succeeded in reviving the dogs after three hours of clinical death, paving the way for trials on humans within years.
But a practcal use? I'd say do it to John Kerry and Howard Dean every 4 years, that way the GOP would win every election for the next couple hundred years.
Someone's In Trouble
Okay, got this e-mail a second ago:
Welcome to Michael Jackson Fan Club (MJFC). We are happy to have you as a member of our FREE newsletter service. Your email address has been recorded in our database. In the future, you will receive news on Michael Jackson as well as information on MJFC web site updates frequently.
And it came to my main unpublished address. Like the one only real people have. And it's not spam - it's a legit sign up confirmation.
So come on, who did that?
(More disturbing, someone that has my address was actually at Jackson's site.)
[Update: Yeah, I'm blaming Jared. Who woulda thought. Oh, that's right I woulda. First that came to mind.]
'Four Score Slots and More'
Haven't tracked ScrappleFace lately - but saw this headline and had to go there:
An unnamed spokesman for the planned gaming operation said, "Mr. Lincoln told his Gettysburg audience that 'in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate, we cannot hallow this ground'...but Mr. Lincoln never saw the rows of magnificent gleaming slot machines, the joyful expressions on the faces of blue-haired women and the opportunity to go from welfare to wealth that our customers will find at 'Four Score Slots and More'."
I am tired.
A Scientific Fact
White, Christian, Rep...
Howard Dean says that the Republican Party is "pretty much a white Christian party." Really? I guess that's why I'm a Republican. Oh, wait...
It's not like the republican party just fought to get a Black judge confirmed. It's not like 70-80% of Americans consider themselves 'Christian'. It's not like Howard is white and considers himself a 'deeply religious Christian'.
Oh wait. It is like that.
You know it really, really irritated me to hear some some pompous know-it-all tell me the 'way it is'. You know what? You have no idea what you're talking about. You think just because you say it, it's true. Or at least you think that since you said it, I should think it's true.
However, there is one party that you can define by fact, and that's your party. The fact is that the Democrat party is pretty much a party of losers.
But what am I complaining about - good job! You're only making yourself and your party look more and more irrelevant.
Putting Howard Dean in charge of the Democratic Party is like putting O.J. Simpson in charge of a battered women's shelter.

Who Cares What They Think
Powerline has an interesting post on how many Senators across the aisle actually support the compromise. Not many.
Hey, does that mean we can ignore the actions of a few Senators the don't speak for the whole and simply keep pushing the agenda of the administration and congressional majority we voted in?
I really hope so.
